La Cusinga EcoLodge signs a declaration with Paniamor against the prostitution of minors.

   What is Paniamor?
   
   We are...
   a Costa Rican private, non-profit, non-partisan organization
   created in 1987, and declared to be of public interest to the aims of the State since 1989.
   Institutional Purpose
   The Foundation´s purpose is to attain compliance of the rigths of people under the age of 18 in Costa Rica. By providing information and training services, by engaging in policy advocacy, and by offering preventive atention to adolescents in social disadvantage, Paniamor promotes social mobilization towards the achievment of its institutional purpose.
   At Paniamor, social mobilization is understood as the planned and strategic implementation of collective practices by members of a social group intended to modify certain social characteristics that condition their lives.
   
   Paniamor executes its programs with the support of a team of professionals in psychology, psychiatry, communications, law, education, philosophy, management and social work, and the commitment of its administrative staff and volunteers.
   
   Parents and children, community and religious leaders, professionals in key sectors, researchers, politicians and policy makers are essential participants in the Foundation´s proposal for lasting social change
   
   Project:
   
   As part of the mission of Paniamor, they are reaching out to the tourism sector in an effort for us to help them educate and prevent the prostitution of minor, which is ilegal in Costa Rica. La Cusinga has promise to help out with educational materials about the subject, to give a better image of Costa Rica by educating our guest to the fact that prostitution of minors are illegal and penalized by law, and that in no way do we support or tolerate such acts (something that we truly believe in, our youth is our future and the deserve a good future). As parents, we believe that the present situation in Costa Rica is very sad and that with the efforts of everyone we can turn this country into the number one tourist destination for families and nature lover… and one that does not tolerate the abuse of out youth.
