Buenos Dias! Overall I did enjoy my stay at the lodge. The surroundings are beautiful and it is pleasing to know that they are being preserved. I do have some constructive (I hope!) comments to make. As you know my daughter and I were placed in the same building with the couple and their 2 year old baby. Most lodges are very consciousness about young kids and other guests. It made the first night for us really stressful. We spent a lot of time and money to come on this vacation and expected to have more thoughtful placement. I had called ahead to find out about room accomodations because I do have some insomnia issues. I was grateful to switch rooms but very dissatisfied with the lack of concern or help to have an extra bed in my room. I got even less sleep the 2nd night! I felt that the staff was \"bothered\" by my request and very reluctant to help me. This attitude seemed to come up again over the course of the week. I was very disappointed in this.
The other concern, which may not have been the resorts claim, was the matter around organic food. I was told that all the food would be organic. The cereals for the children and the use of trans fats were a concern to a lot of us who were expecting otherwise.
Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot with the room arrangement, but I did feel like we were treated as an imposition rather than a welcome guest at times!
----Reply from the Management----
Hi Candice,
Glad to see your message, but surprised at your comments and sorry you felt that way... But here is my reply to it:
You where part of a Yoga Family Retreat, you all had a group leader and they had all the information of the rooms. We never got a list assignment, so we assign you all rooms at randomly not knowing much about your group. When the group got in, you all arrived one by one and the rooms where given. Once you told me that you wanted to see about a different room, we gladly gave you the option of the honeymoon suite, which has a king bed… and you said it was great! Even though that room goes for more and it was not in the list of your group, I thought that it was important to make sure that you where happy. The following day in the evening your guide told me that you where not happy in that room because you did not wanted to sleep in the same bed as your young daughter… At that time I told her that we can find you an extra bed and set it the next morning as it was late and the staff had all gone and I was not able to move a bed by myself. But they told me that they could take one of the small mattress from there room and place it in the floor… which they did. Never got any negative feedback, actually when I asked you the next morning you told me all was good!
Regarding the food…We normally try to have all organic, locally grown produce. Again for this group we had 15 different constraints in the eating habits, and the kids were not eating the fresh vegetables or any of the fish. So we asked your guides to see if we can buy hamburgers and make fresh french-fries and they said yes… the oil we use is all sunflower oil with no trans fats in them. For us it was a challenge and we did talk to the leaders of the group regarding this point, and for next year they will send us a menu of what they want to eat.
I am so sorry that you felt that we were of no help or that we did not wanted to help, as we did go out of our way to try to make everyone at home. Not sure what we can do to fix it, but I will talk to the staff and will make sure to recap these points so neither I nor the staff make these mistakes again.
It was so much fun having you all here and I do hope to have you back.
