A good coffee is done in the traditional style, one of the so many traditions that we try to conserve, as Costa Rican that we are.
They say that the traditions are something that you experience yourself and that are preserved over generations, and in the La Cusinga Eco Lodge, we have not only preserved our natural resources for 37 years in our private reserve, but we have also continue with many of the customs of our grandparents and many of the local traditions… unfortunately many of them are being lost to easier ways of life.
The smell of the coffee wakes many of our guest in the morning, and little by little they arrive at the restaurant for a fresh cup. Many are surprised upon seeing the way that we brew the coffee. We have a “chorreador” made of fiber, by which we strain the water mixes with the coffee. This is one of the oldest forms to do the best coffee in Costa Rica. In the photo one of the girls is preparing the second round of the delicious coffee of Mr. Ramon, selected by its family in the zone of San Vito, one of the so many local businesses that for many years we have supported.
Also we conserve the tradition of the oxen, the ox wagon, the soccer games, the preparation of food with firewood, the tortilla prepared by hand, and many traditions that have been part of our families for generations, and they are part of our day by day way living.
