An enjoyable 4 km trail through lush primary forest north of the Lodge that's full of giant trees called garlic due to the smell of their flowers. These giants of the forest are more than 1000 years old, according the Organization of Tropical Studies. Once you cross the bridge you can take a right or go straight, it is a loop, so you can choose your route. Early morning and late afternoon walks are the best for bird and nature watching.
This is a leisurely 1 hour stroll that crosses the Quebrada Grande. The creek offers many shady places for hikers to relax in the cool running water from the mountains above the Lodge. On your way back follow the trail to the Poza and you will find a great swimming hole in the creek.
