Organic Producers are certified at a national level and are member of The Costa Rican Organic Agriculture Movement (MAOCO).
(MAOCO) is a space body forof agreements, exchanges and meetings between different members devoted with to the development of the Costa Rican organic farming. The Movement is shaped by affiliations of regular producers and organic producers of the throughout the whole country, non -governmental organizations that support the sector, and state entities tied to the organic production. The Movement has developed diverse experiences of in production, investigationresearch, training, certification, promotion and commercialization of organic products, which has turned out. This has resulted in a variety of developed experiences, qualified families, and productive efficiently systems that go range from farms in organic transition, up to consolidated eco-agricultural systemssystems agroecológicos consolidated. The impetus for this work derives from the definition of the Regional Strategies of Organic Farming in which the development of the sector has been visualized in both the medium- and long-term. This forms the structure of the Movement’s work.
